EarthLink is owned by Windstream and was originally founded in 1994. The company operates out of Atlanta, Georgia and provides services in partnership with other networks. You’ll choose from a different connection types that are available in your location. For example, Asymmetric xDSL, Satellite, ADSL2, ADSL2+, and Cable DOCSIS 3.0.
Since the company partners with AT&T which is one of the biggest carriers in the country, EarthLink provides services to subscribers in 50 states.
Typically, EarthLink does not have any limits on the amount of data you can download or upload each month. But, the third-party internet access providers that partner with EarthLink may set limits. If you’re getting an internet connection for residential use, there are no restrictions on the data you use.
EarthLink offers you DSL plans that only require a phone line and is accessible without the need for a home phone service. In addition to your internet allowance per month, each EarthLink plan includes a customized home page and access to the company mobile app for both, Android and iOS. You’ll also get an EarthLink email account with a maximum of 8 addresses.
Should you choose to get an EarthLink internet connection, you’ll need equipment like:
- A Wi-Fi router
- Line splitters
- Internet modem
- Ethernet cable
- Phone jack
Once you subscribe, you’ll receive a complete kit that contains all the items needed for setting up the connection.
