About US Mobile
Ahmed Khattak started the company in 2014 after he founded GSM Nation four years previously. Their headquarters are located in Stamford, CT.
Initially, Khattak promoted US Mobile as a testing version of a cost-efficient MVNO to sell its service at $25 a month. At that stage, the company had seven employees and some 500 subscribers. Khattak launched the service commercially in 2015.
In February of the next year, the network tried to resell Meizu and Xiaomi cell phones in the USA. But following a fierce response from T-Mobile and Xiami, US Mobile withdrew the phones from their web store just a day later. The company’s network partner supports official carrier certifications for its devices, which Khattak had not purchased for Meizu and Xiaomi phones. Nonetheless, Khattak maintains that he might try to certify the devices for future resale.
By the end of the year, the company saw some growth, having reported 20,000 active subscribers. Still, this was way short of the initial aim of 100,000 for that year. Despite this shortcoming, US Mobile was named “The Best Phone Plan for Bargain Hunters” by Kiplinger.
Prior to the fall of 2017, the network relied on T-Mobile to provide its services. But US Mobile has since added another partner – Verizon. This means that the most reliable network provider is now available on US Mobile.
The enterprise boosted its plans in 2019, and included unlimited data packages. Owing to this, US Mobile enabled free international roaming data. Also, there’s a number of perks that accompany subscribing to multiple lines under unlimited plans. For instance, you can add Apple TV Plus, Netflix, Disney+, ESPN+, Hulu, etc. The more lines you include in your plans, the more perks you get.
