About Ultra Mobile
David Glickman co-founded Ultra Mobile in 2011, and it was touted as a company that offers cost-efficient prepaid cell phone services with limitless text plans and international calls. The service runs on T-Mobile’s cellular network located in the US.
In 2015, the mobile carrier was named the fastest-growing private company in the US, owing to its 85% growth rate and over $115 million in revenue over the last twelve months. Two years later, you could find Ultra Mobile in more than 25,000 retail stores throughout the US, including 7-Eleven and Target.
At the beginning of 2016, Ultra Mobile started managing the Univision Mobile brand. But just one year later, the company stated that they were shutting down the Univision brand, and that all its subscribers would become members of Ultra Mobile.
In August of 2016, the company founded Mint Mobile, previously known as Mint SIM. This affiliate specializes in selling prepaid cell phone plans on T-Mobile’s network. It also offers discounts based on yearly, quarterly, or monthly terms paid beforehand.
In 2017, Ultra Mobile consisted of about 150 employees across the US, Asia, and Europe. Another interesting fact about the company is that it’s been focused on employing millennials. In the same year, the enterprise enabled access to more than 200 countries, and unlimited calls to 75 countries.
Their business model is heavily based on the sales of SIM cards you can use on your unlocked phone with a prepaid plan. This practice isn’t that common, given that the majority of other mobile carriers in the US sell long-term contracts in unison with a free or discounted locked phone.
Ultra Mobile Is Ultra Diverse
Although you can only decide between two types of plans, both of them have a lot to offer. Whether you’re into unlimited or restricted data amounts, you should be able to find the ideal package if you subscribe to Ultra Mobile.
