About Republic Wireless
Republic Wireless was founded in 2011 after a successful beta testing of the LG Optimus-S device. The company received 5,000 orders within just a couple of hours, and more than 100,000 subscriptions.
One year later, Republic Wireless enhanced their cell phone assortment and quality with the introduction of Motorola Defy XT. The demand for the device was high, but the company made the phone available only to a select group of users they called “waves.” Shortly afterward, the device was made fully available.
In 2013, the company unveiled its first flagship device, the Motorola Moto X. Along with this launch, Republic Wireless finally ensured the desired MMS functionality. Another crucial advance during this period was the smooth call handover from Wi-Fi to cells uninterruptedly.
In April of 2016, Republic Wireless came up with a solution to catching dropped calls and quality degradations before they took place. The company deemed this Bonded Calling, and it greatly optimized call quality.
Later that year, a brand-new lineup of both budget-friendly and flagship cell phones was available from Republic Wireless. Furthermore, the company introduced the Bring Your Own Phone feature, in addition to a number of new cell phone plans.
December 1st 2016 is an especially important date in the company’s history. Namely, it’s the day when Republic Wireless announced its spin-off from its parent company, Bandwidth.com.
One of the greatest breakthroughs in the post-Bandwidth.com era was the 2018 launch of Relay. This product introduced a set of innovations to the way families and friends stayed in touch. Republic Wireless placed the product on the market as a cell phone alternative for seniors and children that properly met their communication needs.
As of 2020, there have been several significant developments, the most notable of which was changing the network. Previously, the company utilized Sprint’s network, and its existing users remained on it. However, Republic Wireless switched its new customers to T-Mobile’s network.

Republic Wireless might not be very generous in terms of their plan options, but their phone selection might seal the deal for you. Also, it operates using a high-speed network, enabling solid performance.
